The self-leveling mixture of this brand is intended for adjusting the concrete base 3-10 mm for further flooring. The self-leveling floor consists of a mineral substance without organic impurities.

For substrates with significant irregularities, use Hercules starter mix.It is used to create an initial floor level and can be applied to a painted surface.

It can be used for the construction of unheated buildings, due to the fact that it contains polymers that form a frost-resistant layer.

Screed Hercules is used in the construction of a classic concrete floor. This material stands out in that layers up to one hundred millimeters thick quickly solidify.

Important: To level the floor surface, a layer 30 millimeters thick is sufficient, and the maximum allowable is up to one hundred millimeters.

If the layer height is too high, it can lead to surface cracking, peeling of the base and uneven drying.

Laying of the finishing material should be done no earlier than a day after the layers have completely dried.

Application Technique

To create a high-quality surface, it is very important to prepare the base.

The preparatory stage consists of:

  • Cleaning the surface;
  • Processing the floor with a special impregnation and drying it;
  • Removing unreinforced areas;
  • Sealing cracks and seams;
  • After the rough mortar has completely solidified, the surface is primed.

Note: With increased moisture absorption capacity of the base, the primer should be applied several times to prevent the rapid absorption of moisture from the solution and the formation of voids.

The surface under the Hercules floor leveler must be even and dry.

According to the instructions, the preparation of the self-leveling floor takes about 30 minutes. After preparation, the solution must be kept for 7 minutes.

Pouring a finishing self-leveling mortar consists of the following steps:

  • Determination of the highest point on the surface and installation of a beacon;
  • Installation of beacons over the entire surface;
  • The components are mixed until a homogeneous state;
  • The prepared composition must be used within forty minutes, then it thickens and it will be more difficult to work with it;
  • The self-leveling solution is distributed using wide trowel to the required layer thickness. To remove air bubbles, use an aeration roller;
  • The pouring of subsequent coats must be carried out at intervals of ten minutes for the initial coat to begin the curing process.

Correct installation of beacons

There are two ways of installing beacons:

  1. First method: Marks are made along all the walls of the room, which are then connected into one line.

    Determine the zero level, depending on the size of the screed height. Measure with a rope equal distances from the bottom to the floor along the perimeter, making marks and connecting them in one line. It will serve as a guide for the beacons and an indicator of the maximum floor level. Using a laser level, marks are set at the desired height along the walls and connected in one straight line.

  2. Second method: Screws are screwed into the floor, between which the string is pulled.

    A solution is applied along it to fix the profile beacons. A beacon is placed on the mixture and pressed until it touches the rope.

In any case, the length between the beacons is 10-15 cm shorter than the spatula, due to which it will rest a little against them and slide easier on the floor. All beacons must be installed parallel to each other.

Difficulties in leveling the floor surface
