Due to such wall decoration, they will look very original in any room.

Flock is a type of decorative building mixture that contains small particles (eg flakes). They can be different, and also with an uneven shape (in the form of petals or stars). This type of finish helps to give the room a special style, and also makes it possible to hide wall irregularities. The next type of decorative plaster is textured, and thanks to it, a relief pattern on the walls is possible. You can achieve the perfect effect and unusual pattern in this case when you plan to apply this mixture in several layers.

An interior with this type of plaster looks especially special. The texture of this plaster can be glossy or matte.

Venetian plaster is incredibly popular due to the fact that after it is applied to the walls, an unusual texture will be obtained. It strongly resembles marble with unusual patterns. This type of building mixture has a predominantly glossy surface texture, because after the plaster dries, it must be covered with a specialized varnish composition.

The advantage of each type of plastering material for decoration is that it is very short-lived. Moreover, it perfectly withstands temperature extremes, safe for use in any room (even for children). Artistic type of plaster will retain color saturation for a long time and can be easily applied to all types of walls. You can even use it for outdoor home decoration.

Preparatory phase

Before starting the finishing work, we recommend prepare in the most careful way.

Wall cleanliness should be considered in advance. All old coatings must be completely removed from the floors and their surfaces. Further, it is important to treat the walls with a special primer (ideally deep penetration). Then give it a chance to dry completely.

The primer must completely dry out on its own, and we do not recommend using a hair dryer or other apparatus to speed up the process.

If necessary, leveling of walls, elimination of chips and cracks is required. Next, it is important to prepare the mixture itself for wall decoration, dilute it according to the instructions, and quite often the store sells the mixture in finished form.

It is important to do this in a uniform and thin layer. Traditionally, the applied layer should not be thicker than 0.2-0. 3 cm thick. It is important to apply layers exclusively from top to bottom.

After the plastering compound covers the walls as a whole, it must be leveled with a trowel. This will make the layer even, and you can remove any excess mixtures. The final step will be to work on the surface with a plastic trowel. Now you can easily set the desired pattern, direction, and everything will depend only on you. The pattern can be circular, for example, oblique or straight lines.

Since you will be doing the work in stages, we recommend doing the final grout at the end to smooth out all the gaps and transitions.

Art plaster and wall painting combined give fantastic results. It is important to work with Venetian plaster very carefully. This mixture is applied to clean and dry walls after the priming process in several layers. The first layer is applied over the entire surface, evenly, and must be left for at least 5-6 hours.

Further, it is important to apply them evenly, as if with strokes, leaving gaps between them. For the effect to be impressive, it is recommended to make 3 applications, i.e. get 3 layers. If you add some color to each layer, the final result can exceed all expectations, and you will get a spectacular surface.

So that at the end of the work the surface visually resembles marble, you can use a special wax, which is intended for construction work.

Moreover, it makes it possible to even wash the surface afterwards. It can only be applied after sanding the surface.

It should be smooth and even. Even the simplest roller can help you achieve unusual texture.

This is one of the most effective and at the same time simple ways. It is recommended to take a special roller with an interesting relief or even patterns. To begin with, on walls that are prepared in advance, it is important to apply a building decorative mixture. After application, it is important to immediately roll over the surface. You can also walk with a simple tool, and then with a relief one.

This helps you create a custom texture.Different stencils can be used, and the working technique is the same with them as with a regular roller. But here you will also need other tools - trowels or a spatula. Applying artistic type plaster, you can turn on your imagination and experiment with courage. Many people get a unique effect through simple improvised means.

It could be a sponge or even a regular plastic bag. Some craftsmen use other, more creative means - a crumpled newspaper, nails and old trowels that have dried out. Sometimes drawing is done with fingers. You can learn how to properly apply Venetian plaster in the video.
