Candy paint - coloring, types and properties

Candy paint - coloring, types and properties Sandy paint and its varieties, features, and colors

Most car owners try to make their own personal vehicles are beautiful, non-standard, and for this reason they use the services of masters of airbrushes, as well as designers.

Car tuning is incredibly popular at the moment, and especially one of the main directions is styling.

In order to improve the appearance of the car, Sandu car paint is often used. This is a high quality paint and varnish material based on polyurethane.

Features of paint and varnish coatings and colors of Candy

Such paint and varnish material as Candy can be classified as transparent, or transparent.

When painting the body, they will not create a dense coating, however, the effect of application is simply incredible. Translated, the word "candy" will mean "candy", because the paints have incredibly beautiful, "delicious" shades and colors. The color range of the paint is presented in more than 30 tones. It can be black, blue, lemon, pomegranate, lime, red apple, purple, green, sapphire, silver, orange, gold, termite, dark beer, white, purple, malachite, white and others. Candy's car paints can be easily connected between glitches, which can result in non-standard tones.

Using modern technology, the master is able to make different color transitions that give the car's design a unique character.

Please note that paint from a manufacturer such as Candy is a water based paint and therefore does not contain harmful solvents that are incredibly hazardous to human health. When thickening, the paint can be diluted with plain water, vodka or even alcohol. Dilution with alcohol will allow the material to dry faster.

Such a product can be applied using an isograph, airbrush, brush - the choice of technique is made by the master individually.

The grinding of the pigment (that is, the dye) is very thin - down to one micron, and therefore the coating will create a feeling of weightlessness, as well as transparency. Due to the textural features, the paint must be covered with a varnish, otherwise Candy will not be resistant to mechanical and chemical effects.

It is interesting that the material will create a beautiful film on natural leather, plastic, and it can also be painted on various flexible-type bases. If you plan to paint materials of inorganic origin - metal, glass, ceramics, and a special primer should be introduced into the composition immediately before application. Usually they use tools such as Ехmiх Рrimе, which go well with Candy.

Advantages and disadvantages of paint

The indisputable advantage of paint will be its juicy and bright color.Only paramagnetic powder paint, which will change its tone depending on the magnetic effect, can boast of such an incredible shine, a non-standard range. The saturation of colors will be due to the introduction of a special pigment with a high power. Standard automotive finishes cannot provide the same depth effect when combined with transparency as Sandu.

The remaining advantages of the paint and varnish material are as follows:

  1. Candy paint - coloring, types and properties Fine grinding of powder with pigments - it will not clog the nozzle of the airbrush and will be excellent as a coloring.

  2. The ability to mix different colors with each other, while you will have a great opportunity to get more than 100 shades.
  3. Suitability for drawing different gradations, transitions, which are often called "moving pictures".
  4. The ability to apply paint in several layers (up to eight), with each layer having different effects, as well as uneven richness.
  5. Environmental friendliness and safety.

Candy's painting with paint is unusual, but she has enough flaws.

Their cost is quite high, and the work is difficult, and only a professional can handle it. For this reason, only those who have expensive equipment / vehicles prefer to paint a car with such material, because the result is exclusive and costs several tens of thousands of rubles. Another disadvantage is the lack of the possibility of repair work. Even after a minor traffic accident or scratch occurs, the car will need to be repainted. Some dyes in the paint group have low light fastness and fade-out methods.

It is almost impossible to carry out such work with your own hands. The fact is that the paint is transparent, and all body defects will be very noticeable. First you need to bring the car to perfection, and only after that carry out the tuning. After that, make a special substrate, and only after that apply the paint in several layers, and at the same time as quickly as possible. Another layer should be applied before the previous one is finished drying, and not all craftsmen will be able to do this.

At the end of the work, three to four layers of varnish should be applied, while also in an accelerated mode

Varieties of Сndy

Usually paint is produced in three main types, in principle differing from each other in properties. It is a transparent type of varnish, ready-to-use base impregnation and dry concentrate. The latter is able to dissolve in varnishes or even in the base material, as well as in any other high-quality automotive paint and varnish material.

As for the form of release, Candy will be sold in aerosol cans, which are 520 ml in volume, and even in a larger container. Most firms sell paint even by weight, 100 ml each.

Powder of the concentrated type is presented in a package of 50 grams, and such a package is enough for 0.55 kg of finished paint (everything should be diluted 1 to 10 with the main material). It should be remembered that the quality of such a paint and varnish material will largely depend on the cost, properties of the paint used, and not just the concentrate.

Candy's paintwork material is often used for tuning a car, but it is perfect for painting:

  • Candy paint - coloring, types and properties Household appliances.
  • Crafts.

  • Bicycles, mopeds.
  • Interior items.
  • Furniture items.
  • Sports equipment.
  • Souvenirs.

Bulk paint is used to renew the surface of boats, cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and furniture. They should be poured into an airbrush or spray gun. Concentrates will be of interest to car painters who clearly know about the properties and quality of other brands of paints and varnishes. The container for liquid paints is made of transparent plastic, has a twister-type lid, and also hermetically seals the bottle. There is a special ball inside that helps to shake the material.

Types

Paint Concentrates

Candy's paint concentrates are excellent for various acrylic and polyurethane car enamels. The finished paint can be transparent, and as new layers are applied, the coating begins to darken, as well as increase in intensity. Concentrates are used for complete car painting and for airbrushing. The shelf life of the concentrate in dry form is much higher than that of the finished paint and varnish material. The material is characterized by low pigmentation and increased resistance to light (approximately 6-7 points out of a maximum of eight).

Polyurethane paint

A similar two-component paint is sold as a base and a hardener (ie catalyst). In airbrushing, it is used extremely rarely, because the paint will be inconvenient for such purposes. In fact, this is the main product of the line. In cans, the polyurethane paint is immediately mixed with the catalyst, but due to the air-free environment, it will not harden.

Base for Sandy paints

This group includes precisely varnishes, as well as basic coatings, which consist of a transparent material when the concentrate is added in a dry form.

There are also base paints with mother-of-pearl, which are used for painting cars and airbrushing.

General rules and methods for painting a car

The approximate consumption will be approximately 1 cylinder (i.e. 520 ml) for each square meter surface in four layers. Usually this number of coats is enough to reveal Candy's potential, although certain artists will recommend applying up to eight coats.

Before starting work, you should buy a certain amount of material with the desired tone. You should first make a test spray - this helps to choose the desired color.

How to paint a car paintwork material - sequence of actions:

  1. Preparatory stage of the surface. It is carried out in the same way as for conventional staining. All scratches, irregularities, dents must be removed, as well as places where there is corrosion.

Grinding is carried out using a material with an abrasive no larger than P800. Porous type putties, low-quality primers are not allowed - the paint will begin to absorb into them, then that is prone to migration. Immediately before starting work, the surface should be thoroughly degreased.

  2. Applying substrates. The substrate should be selected in advance, taking into account that it can illuminate the paint from the inside.

You cannot use cloudy metallic, mother of pearl - they will reduce the effect of the paint. The application should be carried out according to the instructions that will be attached to the specific substrate. Each layer should be allowed to dry as best as possible in order to maximize the evaporation of solvents. If there are a lot of them, then the adhesion with the Candy paint decreases.

  3. Applying a base coat.

When a concentrate is used, it should definitely be mixed with a transparent base in a certain ratio of 1 to 10. The proportions can be changed as desired, certain masters mix the concentrate with a base of 1 to 20. Next, add the hardener in a 1 to 0.7 ratio with the finished paint. It should be applied to the assembled car, all its parts must be in place.

The spray gun should be filled with material and continuous passes along the entire length. The stripes should slightly overlap the rest. Upon completion of the first layer, the second is immediately applied. At the end of the application of the first layer, it is worth immediately applying the second.

  4. Varnishing.

The varnish composition should be applied in at least a couple of layers, while it must necessarily have additives to protect it from ultraviolet radiation. It should be dried according to the instructions, and then, if required, polished.

How to get different colors of Candy paint, as well as custom effects? There are two main methods:

  1. Shading from the shadow. First, you need to create a dark surface - the car already has it, or paint the vehicle black. Next, select the light zones - the edges and bulges.

In each light zone, the paint should completely cover the dark substrate, and instead of metallic, a couple of layers of mother-of-pearl can be applied. Next, 3 or even 3 layers of general Candy coloring are performed. The result is the illusion of colors rolling and moving from bright to dark.

  2. Coloring from light - the method is similar, but the substrate is painted in metallic, and the shadow areas are covered first. The technology is the same in the future.

This method is usually chosen if the car will have a metallic paint finish.

This effect is very delicate, light, and does not resemble any other car tuning with other paints. When applied, a non-standard vehicle will be obtained, and therefore the result will be worth the investment.
