Making a wicket from corrugated board

  1. First of all, the details of the wicket are finally welded. Constant control of dimensions is carried out using a tape measure, a level and a square. At the end of the welding work, metal beads are removed with a grinding wheel.
  2. The mock box is then welded. The seams must also be sanded.

Attention! The bottom part is welded with the shelf outward. This is necessary for ease of passage.

  1. The finished frame is inserted inside the door frame, even gaps are set using wooden pegs. Awnings are welded.

The discharge of electric current can weld it to the parts of the canopy. This will damage the mechanism.

If everything is done correctly, then after checking the operability for opening the gate on the ground, it will be dismantled. Metal parts are primed and then painted with oil dyes to protect them from corrosion.

  1. The false frame is welded to the supporting posts strictly vertically.

    Level control is constantly monitored. Areas with layers of paint damaged by welding are reworked.

  2. A sheet of corrugated board is attached to the frame of the gate leaf by means of self-tapping screws for metal or a special riveting machine. A hole is drilled under each hardware. It should be smaller in diameter.

  3. At the last stage, a knob-shaped handle and a mortise lock are installed. It is bolted onto a mounting plate made of 4 mm metal sheet according to the dimensions of the lock body.
  4. The wicket door is installed in its place. A thick grease is introduced into the canopies. The gate is ready to work.

Making gates with corrugated board finishing from the outside

The process is difficult to complete alone, so you need to involve a couple of assistants. The parts are heavy, and the gate area is several times larger than the wicket. Massiveness is due to the work that this mechanism will have to do.
