Assembly and installation

  7. Attach a router to the bottom of the plate, for this you need bolts. Installing the insert fixing will allow you to save cut depth and replace the cutter without unnecessary hassle.

  8. We make a milling machine lift with our own hands using a jack. It will allow very precise adjustment of the cutter height.
  9. Instead of handles, we attach guides to the router. They need to be connected to a jack.

Features

For a hand router, it is recommended to use the workbench that you already have.

But to reduce vibrations, for greater stability, it is better to build another structure. The surface on which the router will be located must also be very stable. After all, it is on it that the main load is distributed, it is made of metal pipes, corners or chipboard.

There must be a free space under the table top as there will be a router mechanism. It attaches with a rigid, metal plate.

You should start working through the thickness of a special installed plate. Round sharp corners. And thanks to the depth of the countertop, the plate will be on the same level with it. A hole is required in the middle of the plate for a milling machine. We attach with screws.

We begin to make a frame for the base, for more convenient work, the tabletop should go out to a distance of 10-20 cm. The height of the frame should be about 85-90 cm, this optimal height corresponds to the height of an average person, for more convenient work with a manual machine. The main thing in the manufacture of a table is the dimensions and dimensions of the installed machine. That is, it can be a large unit in the center of the tabletop, or a separate milling tool.

Making the plate

The thickness for the plate should be taken a little less than the table top to enhance cutting. But for all its small thickness, it must be very strong. It is best to make it out of metal. The normal thickness is 0.6 cm.
