A suburban area cannot be imagined without a cozy gazebo in the garden. The gazebo in the yard is the place where you want to relax on a summer evening with a cup of tea with friends or loved ones.
Many are trying to somehow stand out from the crowd and do something on their site unusual, not like everyone else. Chinese style gazebos have been gaining more and more popularity lately. The design of such a gazebo is made by combining smooth lines with symbolism and versatility, which in turn evokes feelings of peace and comfort.
The gazebo in the Chinese style is distinguished by a characteristic and original roof, executed in the style of pagoda. It is thanks to her that the design takes on an unusual look. Building like this will change the whole look of your lot.
Note: The pagoda is a Buddhist building of a cult nature.
A Chinese gazebo can be built from absolutely any material.
However, by tradition, natural wood is used for construction of such structures.
There are several types of arbor shapes:
It is believed that in round gazebos there is a warmer and more friendly atmosphere, because there are no sharp corners in it. Also, this shape looks prettier and more comfortable. The multifaceted gazebo is also a rather original solution.
This design looks solemn.
Arrangement of the gazebo with your own hands
First, a place for the gazebo is marked out and the top layer of soil is removed from it. If this nuance is not taken into account , then plants will grow under the floor of the building, the moisture from which will act on the floorboards and spoil them. This area should be covered with crushed stone or sifting, tamping well, and pour a layer of sand on top.
Then the foundation is pulled out.
You can use tape or columnar.
Note: For a small gazebo, it would be advisable to arrange a columnar foundation.
When using a columnar foundation, it must be borne in mind that the support beams will be located at the location of the intended pillars to support the roof. Another beam is installed in the middle of the building to support the floor log.
Consider the device using the example of a base made of brick pillars on concrete slabs.
Ten such pillars are made for a round structure and 2 more for steps. A sand cushion ten centimeters wide is poured under each element of the base and carefully compacted. A square formwork thirty centimeters wide is installed on top of the pillow, and a footing is poured fifty centimeters thick. Thus, the remaining ten columns are made.
The base for the steps is made thirty by eighty centimeters.
After hardening concrete mortar, brick is laid. A roofing felt pad is placed on the posts in front of the lower strapping device.
Since the gazebo is planned for a relatively light construction, the crown is made of two boards installed with an edge. The installation of strapping lags occurs along a short wall. On them floorboards are spread.
After the floor is installed, the support posts are installed. For them, planed timber is used.
Ten vertically positioned pillars are placed. The timber is temporarily fixed with plank slopes . After the roof is completed, they are removed.
But the base racks should be well fixed with bars of 40 * 40 mm from 4 sides.
At the level of about eighty centimeters, a middle strapping is made. To do this, take thick planed boards fifty by one hundred and fifty millimeters horizontally between the bars.
Vertical posts are fixed with reinforced corners. Then the top harness is made.
As in the case with the floor, it uses edge-to-edge planks.
The main rule here is to collect triangular elements on the ground and lift them with ready-made blocks.
Important : The location of all external elements must be on top of each other, i.e. first is sawn under the desired corner rafter board at the end, then installed on the beam and fixed from above with nails.
Not applied from the side, nailed horizontally, and then sawed off.
As mentioned earlier, it is customary to use natural materials in Chinese style gazebos. For finishing the roof, as a rule, tiles or euro roofing material are used.
In order for the roof frame to support the clay tile, its frame is made using a bundle of wooden elements. And here it is best to use a multi-stage method of executing fragments, which are then combined into one cone-shaped system.
A Chinese style roof is a complex structure that needs a special rafter system. To build it, you first need to plan and draw up drawings.
Note: There are special requirements for buildings of the Chinese style: for the roof boards with section 150 * 30 cm, and plywood can be used no thicker than one centimeter.
The width of the vertical support must match the size of the truss structure.
The edges of the roof are also curved towards the top.
The roof is installed in the following sequence:
Important: To create an oriental style roof, you need to raise its corners, that is, they must be bent. And for this lightweight profile material is ideal.
Ready-made Chinese corners can be purchased from a specialist store.
Next, the supports are installed and secured by tying, for example, with 15 * 15 cm beams. The supports are fastened using anchors mounted in the base pillars.
In addition, the strapping of the supports and the top of the frame is carried out.
The walls of the gazebo in the Chinese style are mainly used for decorative purposes; no serious loads are placed on them . They can come with many different windows and doors.
Also, Chinese gazebos can be of any configuration and have more than one floor.
