Varieties, properties and procedure for applying HV paint
Facade HV paints by their own composition are a suspension synthetic or natural pigments in perchlorovinyl type resins.
Such materials are used for outdoor work where protection is needed against aggressive environmental influences (for example, atmospheric precipitation).
Perchlorovinyl paints have rich colors, and they also dry out relatively quickly and have excellent adhesion to concrete surfaces, which will determine their widespread use.
Such paints have an excellent degree of adhesion, and therefore the film that forms after drying will protect not only from moisture inside, but also from an aggressive chemical environment. When creating paints for polyvinyl chloride, a lightfast pigment is used, because the bright color of the facade will last up to six years and even more.
Perchlorovinyl paints are produced in accordance with GOST 25129-82. When buying a product, you should make sure that it will correspond to it, and not produced according to technical conditions. The most popular today are facade paints of the XB-192 and XB-161 brands, which are enriched with special plasticizers, which will increase their scope and excellent properties.
Paint for facades under the XB-161 brand is almost universal, and it will be possible to work with it with a large temperature range (from -20 to +45 degrees). It will be a suspension of colored pigments that will be dissolved in the PVC varnish with the addition of fillers.
This material is perfect for the decorative type of finishing part of the facade of brick buildings, as well as houses and plastering. ХВ-192 is a perchlorovinyl enamel, which is a modified product containing a plasticizer (PDEA). Due to this, the percentage composition of the proportion of non-volatile substances is reduced (this can be about 35%). The paint is used to decorate concrete and brick facades, and it also has a high degree of adhesion.
XB-182 can be applied directly to the surface without preparation.
The film is obtained due to the evaporation of xylene, and this makes it possible to decorate facades in winter at negative temperatures. Although the compositions of perchlorovinyl-type paints and varnishes are slightly different, they will all have common characteristics.
In particular, the paint material has a normal viscosity level (approx. 40 s) and therefore no solvents may be added before painting the surface. The painted surface will dry out for four hours and one kilogram of paint and varnish composition takes four square meters.
The average material consumption will be approximately 0.18 to 0.22 kg per square meter, but the paint should be applied in a couple of coats.
Perchlorovinyl paints are used for painting the facade of a residential building , industrial buildings for special purposes. They are suitable for plaster, wood, stone, concrete, brick and plasterboard surfaces.
To decorate the facades of old buildings, XB0182 paint is ideal, which creates a beautiful matte finish with a rich color on the surface to be treated. In a closed type of room, such paints should not be used, but if necessary, then you should take care of powerful ventilation. Perchlorvinyl-type paint coatings are always appropriate where the painted surface will be exposed to aggressive environments.
Although the technical characteristics of the IV paint are incredible, you should check the surface you intend to paint before applying the paint ..
. In order to have the ideal quality of work, it should be done so that there are no cracks and flaws on the surface of the plaster, and it should also be perfectly clean and dry. This will affect concrete and bricks. If the walls have previously been painted with acrylic, silicate, organic silicon paint or any other type of dyes, then you will need to clean the entire surface before painting.
Further, the following should be taken into account:
- The prepared wall surface should be thoroughly primed (HFG primer or chalk mixed with perchlorovinyl varnish).
If the paint is zinc white, then it is worth painting the facades twice.
- Before starting work, thoroughly mix all the paint and varnish material to prevent it from thickening and the appearance of lumps during work.
- The second coat should only be applied after the first coat is completely dry.
- When painting work, use a special protective mask, goggles and gloves.
How to properly prepare the facade for staining is described in the video tutorial.
Perchlorovinyl paint can be applied not only with a spray gun, but also with a brush, roller. If the viscosity of the paint and varnish composition is too high for using a pneumatic spray, then it can be thinned with a P-4 spray, xylene or solvent. Note that a paint sprayer will give an excellent manufacturer, but painting with a fur roller will make the surface much better. You should be careful about the storage of paints, because they contain a solvent that is easily flammable. The can with the paint and varnish composition should be closed tightly, and the temperature in the storage room should not exceed +10 degrees.
Bright gamut of colors of this type of material (paints) make it possible to implement unusual design ideas, and this is liked by all consumers without exception.Perchlorovinyl facade paints can withstand any negative atmospheric conditions.
The surface, which is covered with such materials, is not only resistant to moisture, but also has a high degree of resistance to wear, and also protects the wood surfaces from fungus or mold.
In addition, the surface will be UV-resistant. The walls will not "fade" even in direct sunlight, but you should not paint under the sun, it is better to do it on a cloudy day.
When painting the surface of walls on a sunny day, the paint may begin to crack.
Another disadvantage of this material is its poor plasticity due to the fact that there are enough pigments in the paint. For this reason, the painted surface can begin to deform with slight deformation of the immediate facade.
Although the paint and varnish material can be applied even in winter, at negative temperatures (before that it does not thicken), if it snows or rains, then work should be stopped immediately and wait for the precipitation to stop. Despite such shortcomings, with a competent approach, perchlorovinyl paints are perfect for decorating facades, and their popularity is fully justified by their long service life and beautiful appearance.
