But this is a temporary option.
It will take more effort and finances to keep the floor constantly heated. Of course, the costs will not be very high, such a floor can be installed within one day.
The film floor has a thermostat and heaters that are connected to it, and the film floor also contains a sensor for temperature control.
The temperature control sensor is located between the heating elements, and the sensor contacts are connected to special contacts of the thermostat.
The main task of the thermostat is to monitor temperatures by the sensor and regulate heating temperatures, according to the specified parameters.
The thermostat is attached to the wall at the level that suits you. 220W power is supplied to it, so it is better to place the thermostat close to the switch.
True, there is one important point! If the power of the underfloor heating film is more than 2 kW, then it is better to connect it through a special circuit breaker.
There are two types of film floors:
Films differ in name and type of heating.
Infrared film floors generate 90% heat. They feel and act like sunlight. They have a good effect on the human body, ionize the air, create conditions where microorganisms and bacteria do not multiply. When installing infrared film floors, you not only get warm, but also take care of your health.
True, the price of such floors ranges from $ 20 to $ 25 per sq.
m, and this is, not counting building materials and a thermostat.
Conclusion: this system is not cheap.
The disadvantages of these floors are the fear of locking, that is, you cannot put furniture or other large interior items on them, because the transmitted fragments floors quickly overheat and fail.When installing an infrared film floor, the floor is not laid on those places where furniture or other heavy objects will stand.
The material is sold in rolls , and rolls are from 50 cm to 1 m wide, from a few microns to several mm thick.

Some manufacturers convince us that thin floors are much better, but this is not the case. Not so, because the thinner the carbonate layer, the more likely it is to break.

Choose not a thin film, but a dense one.
In modern construction markets, striped carbon film prevails, in which the carbon paste is replaced by a film with stripes of various widths. The stripes make up the blocks, you can cut them along the lines between the blocks. You can cut such a film to the length you need. The carbon strips are connected in parallel, so if one or more strips fail, the rest will work.
But if a small area is damaged, then a large area will not work.
This disadvantage is absent in warm film floors with continuous carbon spraying. They also have blocks, but the carbon paste will be all over the film. When the film is damaged, the temperature around the damaged area has a lower temperature.
Continuously applying carbon to film has another positive quality.
When shooting with a thermal device of different types of floors, the difference in heating is visible. Cable heat-insulated floors do not have the highest heating intensity, and heating zones with different intensities are visible on the striped film floor. In the case of solid carbon coating, the heating intensity is evenly distributed.
The second variant of heating is suitable for laying a warm film floor under laminate or other wooden coverings.
There is one more type of material - this is a graphite film under a tile, so to speak, a graphite film warm floor under a tile.
It is produced by a Ukrainian company. The film has a factory perforation for better adhesion of all materials. There are holes along the surface of the film, through which the tile adhesive will bond to other surfaces.
It is recommended to take a film thinner than three millimeters. In European countries and the USA, the standard thickness is 0.
338 mm. Some manufacturers make the film floor thinner, because the consumption of materials is less, the cost is lower, and you can sell it for a higher price.
Always ensure that the graphite layer is evenly applied.It should be applied uniformly, be opaque, because the service life depends on the thickness of the layer. The thickness of the graphite layer can be checked by light and, if the layer is thin, such a film should not be taken.
It is necessary to carefully inspect the copper bus from the side, it must have sufficient density and width, this is necessary for good contact with carbon. The optimal tire width is 13-15 mm, but if the width is less, then the film quality will be poor.
The surface of the busbar must be smooth, even, shiny, without streaks. In good quality foil floors, the carbon stripes will never show through the copper.
In inexpensive films, silver is added to the carbon paste to provide low electrical resistance.
This provides good contact with the tire, but the carbon portion heats up and the tire stays cold, so contact is impaired. The tire peels off over time, a spark will slip, and the heating power will be less.
To prevent this from happening, a special tire configuration with anti-spark mesh has been developed. Such a grid has a caleo film warm floor.

When the subfloor is even, the installation of a film warm floor begins with thermal insulation, it consists of a damper tape. It is laid with an overlap on the walls. Thermal insulation is laid without cracks and gaps, insulation elements are glued together with tape or glue.
With its small thickness, it can also be fastened with staples and, in the case of using expanded polystyrene plates, fastening with special dowels. After installation, the joints are glued with adhesive tape.
We spread the foil floor, placing the contacts to the wall where the thermostat will be fixed. The sheets of foil should not overlap, but they can be spread side by side.
Top and bottom of the bus that will not be in use, close with insulation.
Through crimp contacts, to which the wires are fixed, the electrical connection of the bus and wires is made. You can also solder the wires to the busbars, and seal the soldering points with insulation.
The contacts that come with the kit are installed using pliers. Place the contact on the top and bottom of the copper bus and clamp it with pliers.
We clean the conductor from insulation by 1 cm, insert the wire without insulation into the contact connector and clamp it.

How to check the operation of the film floor before installing the coating?
To do this, set the temperature to 30 degrees and monitor the heating of the strips. If the heating occurs evenly and does not spark anywhere, you can proceed with the installation of the coating.
The most suitable covering for a warm film floor is a laminate. It will be a little more difficult with ceramic and porcelain stoneware tiles.
In the case of tiles, tile adhesive and subsequent tiles can be applied to the foil itself, but perforated foil must be used. Of course, the thickness of the glue will need to be slightly increased (by 2 cm) and, if necessary, use a reinforcing mesh.
If you lay a film warm floor under a laminate, then a substrate is laid on the film, and then the laminate.
If the finishing coating is soft, then for rigidity it is better to lay sheets of plywood, gypsum fiber board, etc.
Boards must be laid on a polyethylene film or on a material suitable for this work.
Then they are attached with self-tapping screws, dowels or nails. Once the underlay has been installed, the final flooring materials can be attached.
Resistive film floor
There is another type of underfloor heating film, but it is not as common as others.
They generate heat in the same way as in heating cables. A conductor in a resistive film floor consists of many thin strips of metal, which are sealed in two layers of film.
The current is supplied to the strips using the busbars, which are located on the side.
Important to know:
1) Resistive foil floor cannot be deformed!
2) Resistive foils are not suitable for laying under tiles, but suitable for laying under carpet , laminate, linoleum.
Warm film floor is easy to install, does not take much time during installation, does not require special skills, except for installing a thermostat. Unlike other heating options , the version with a film floor is well suited for quickly heating a room.
