Foam and basalt insulation

Insulation material is produced by melting rock - basalt, in the form of a cylinder. They fit perfectly to pipes. At a cost, it is higher than glass wool, but it also requires moisture protection.

Note: As practice shows, most often the street pipeline is insulated with foam in the form of a shell.

The foam shell is fixed to the pipes with special tape, while the elements are installed with an overlap of at least ten centimeters. All joints are also glued.

Foamed polyethylene insulation has a low coefficient of thermal conductivity, which contributes to good heat retention. Also protects the polyethylene pipeline from overheating in hot summer weather and freezing in cold weather.

Serves as protection against condensation accumulation and corrosive formations.

Alternative methods of insulation

Not always the use of one insulation is able to provide effective protection. In very cold weather, additional insulation may be required. Heating with a special cable or pressure is perfect for this.
Any liquid has a certain pressure at which it cannot freeze.

Plumbing insulation can also be done according to this principle. Why simply insert the receiver into the water pipe.

The optimal pressure is 3-5 atm. The main point here is that the system is able to withstand this pressure. Then it will not freeze at high subzero temperatures.

Insulation of underground pipes can also be carried out with electric cables . Wires are laid on pipes in a spiral or longitudinal way, and then covered with insulation. This method is reliable and can be used to heat pipes in a few hours, but it requires constant access to electricity.
