With modern construction, projects for office, residential and industrial premises immediately provide for the laying of communications, but what to do with major repairs or if the building was built under Khrushchev (or even worse - under Stalin)? There is a way out in this situation, at the same time, it is quite simple and convenient, but how to install a plinth with a cable channel and are there any installation methods?

Please note that it is not at all necessary that the design provides for a cable channel in the form of a specially thought-out groove in the profile. In special cases, the instruction makes it possible to lay wires under the bar if there is enough free space between the corner of the walls and floor.

The best but also the most expensive radius corner ceiling / floor skirting board is made of polyurethane - it can even be tied into a knot without damaging the surface.

Despite the fact that the price of such a pleasure is higher than that of analogs, a special groove for laying communications is not provided in it, although it is possible to lay one wire in the corner of the plane interface. Such profiles can be installed either on glue or on gypsum-type slatters, it all depends on the surface of the finish.

And this method of heating a room, which is shown in the photo, can make it possible to lay not one, but a whole group of wires. Such heating can be electric and water, and in this case, wiring will be needed in order to maintain the operability of the structure, but there will still be room for an additional cord - this has been tested in practice.

By the way, it may seem strange to some, but a special cable channel is sometimes provided for wooden skirting boards.

True, usually such profiles are made of composite, and not from a solid mass - as a rule, it is MDF with a veneer coating. The installation of the main strip is usually carried out on a plastic guide, or on steel clamps, but this has no technological value.

Naturally, the most common and convenient for installation of a hidden type is a polyvinyl chloride skirting board, which, due to its configuration, has several grooves so that communications can be laid. For this reason, using his example, we propose to consider how to install a plinth with a cable channel, since in this case it is possible not only to lay a lot of cables, but also to do all this as soon as possible, without large labor costs.

Installation

Please note, that depending on the surface (rough), which in our case the walls, we choose fasteners.

If the wall is wooden, we use wooden screws, and if it is made of bricks, concrete slabs or blocks, then only screws with plastic dowels.

Immediately, we note that the very first types of PVC baseboards, which were made for laying the wire, provided for installation work with steel clamps, and this was extremely inconvenient, since at the slightest deviation from the wall, a lot of clearances. Naturally, the gaps were removed by simply twisting the screw through the front side, and the head from the screw was covered with a decorative element, but this method could only be called a hidden installation with a stretch.

At the moment, the design of the profiles in relation to the fasteners has changed, and this made it possible to abandon the kleimers - press the plinth against the wall through the back panel of the channel cable and you're done! The distance between the fastening points should be 0. 4-0.

45 meters. But if the wall is not very flat, the step will have to be shortened, since the correct installation of the plinth implies a firm pressure against the wall. The increase in fastener points will be in those places where the profile moves away from the wall and creates a gap.

DIY installation

Now we suggest doing the whole installation process with your own hands:

• The fittings for the outside corners provide for a double console and overlay, so at the very beginning you should attach the element at the outside corners.
• After that, you need to remove a small plug from each strip that you install, which will help to close the cable channel.

• Now you can install the skirting board itself, its standard length is usually 2.5 meters, but sometimes 5-meter strips are also found.
• You understand that 2.5 meters is not enough for every wall, therefore, to make the connection of profiles, you need to use docking fittings.
• At the end points (at the doorway, cabinet), end caps should be put on the profiles, which can be right and left (choose what suits your case).

The length of the plinth must be the same as the distance between the centers of the docking fittings.

And the most crucial moment in installing a skirting board with a cable channel is cutting the profile along its length:

• To make the length of the profile segment ideal, you should calculate the distance between the centers of the fittings docking, that is, at 0. 4-0. 5 cm more on each side.
• It is best to cut the bar (including the plug) using a hacksaw for metal, but then finish the cut with a knife and remove the burrs from it.

Docking for radius corner:

• The pruning principle in this case applies to any length - the photo shows how the corner of the radius type is made without bending the profile.

And now you can start the wiring:

• After installation, you can put several wires into the cable channel and cover it with a plug.
• As mentioned earlier, the design of the strip does not have to correspond to each other 100% - there are models in which you can put a lot of cables.
• For this reason, when choosing a profile, pay attention to this so that your communication needs are fully satisfied.

Important! The main photo shows that you can lead the wires vertically through special fittings.

I would like to note right away that such components are very difficult to find on sale for unknown reasons, therefore, for such a tap, you will need to cut a soft edge and install a standard cable channel.
