Unconventional spray technique for painting and painting surfaces
Children of all ages love to paint. But the creation of images using pencils, paints and brushes requires a certain level of drawing technique, moreover, the importance of certain techniques and the correct use of different coloring compositions.
The lack of such skills in children can dissuade him from creativity, because the finished work turns out to be ugly and far from the objects that he wanted to portray.
What to do in this case? Here non-traditional options will come to the rescue, including the spray technique for painting.
To carry out work using this method, you will need:
- Paint ( oil, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, etc.
- Thick paper or other substrate.
- Water and the container into which it will be poured.
- Brushes or even a toothbrush.
- Templates or stencils.
- Dried leaves, flowers and blades of grass.
- Scissors or stationery knife.
- Comb or plastic ruler.
- Regular pencil.
- Armbands and apron.
- Newspaper or oilcloth.
- Flat sticks and other devices.
First of all, you need to arrange the workplace and put on an apron to protect your clothes. In order not to stain the ceiling, floor, walls and other objects in the room, it is worth covering the surfaces with oilcloth or newspaper. The ideal solution would be to get drawings over a bathtub or sink so that brushes, hands and all dirty plumbing can be washed immediately after all work is completed.
You can take a large box, in which it will also be convenient to work with "spray".
Please note that if you do not have experience with this technique, you should practice in advance on black pieces of paper. Splashing is easy enough, but it takes practice.
To be more confident in obtaining an excellent result and at the same time not to worry that an annoying mistake will spoil all the images, the decorated surface should be covered in advance with layers of acrylic-based varnish. In this case, ugly smears and blots can be gently wiped off with a damp paper towel or cloth.
Spraying is done with a toothbrush or brush, and the paint should be diluted with water in a separate jar or even in another container in order to get the consistency of a thin sour cream. The thicker the coloring composition will be used in art, the more difficult it will be to make splashes, they will turn out to be voluminous and even embossed. But here, too liquid consistency of the dye will cause it to spread, and because of this, large blots or smudges may appear that will spoil the canvas.
Working with this spraying technique is carried out in several stages in sequence:
The brushing technique can change the direction of the hand and spray paint diagonally, horizontally, and so on.
The droplet size will also change - you can adjust it by moving the bristles closer or even further away from the piece of paper.
Please note that paints of different colors and degrees of density will make it possible to create extraordinary images that are unrealistic to recreate in exactly the same form. Smooth transitions from one color to another is an extraordinary idea when making unique products.
There are many options for painting with the spray technique:
- The use of ready-made or even do-it-yourself stencils and templates, dried flowers, leaves and other items.
- Obtain the effect of snow or even rain, a sky full of stars in a finished landscape image.
- For finalizing existing drawings and supplementing other techniques (for example, in decoupage).
- To create the base background of the future painting for further finishing the painted surface.
- For tinting the base of applications.
- When making passe-partout and other things.
Stencils or templates are often used for creativity because it does not require artistic experience and knowledge.
Such devices are laid out on a thick sheet of paper or other base, and then dye should be sprayed on top. The stencil will be removed, and a clear pattern of the selected shade will remain on the paper canvas or a bright background is displayed. A similar effect will be given by using dried flowers, small twigs and other items that can be easily found on the street.
Without brushes you can use an old toothbrush, and with it you can easily create a uniform spray, the surface will be tinted quickly and easily, and dark and light (even black) colors are correctly combined on the canvas, and paint of any density can be applied without any difficulties. All this is achieved through a uniform and stiff bristle.
The finished drawing will seem three-dimensional, and you can also depict a "fluffy" or even "prickly" texture. In a large number of cases, when using a punching brush, gouache is used. The main thing is to make the composition of the required consistency. It is important to avoid getting a very liquid paint, but you should also not apply it dry or even thick.
A toothbrush will be required for the image on paper or even another processed surface:
- The main background for the future drawing.
- Create images of insects, animals, trees, flowers and other landscape elements.
- Hail, snow, raindrops, the surface of the sea, clouds, clouds and others.
A non-standard solution would be to dip the toothbrush once in two different colors, and so it will turn out to master the technique of double smear. Different shades and tones will look professional, which means that even a child will be able to please loved ones with unusual landscapes, sketches and still lifes. An unconventional spray painting technique is not always required for the production of independent images.
It is used for toning snow-white paper for further use when creating appliqués and other crafts. Mastering such a technique will be beneficial for both children and adults. Paints, other scrap materials and common tools help to create real works of art. In order to create more beautiful splashes of paints on paper, you need to practice a little before starting work.
