It is made of fatty amino acids, modifiers, vegetable solvents, and also an accelerator for drying NF-1.

What is NF-1

It is possible to change the characteristics of paints and varnishes only when using fillers.

They are selected depending on the weather conditions, if you want to change the property of the paint and varnish material. Consumers need to know which filler to buy. NF-1 is a desiccant that is used to accelerate the chemical polymerization of the composition, and it is added in small quantities to form a film. Desiccant is polyvalent metal salts and monobasic monocarboxylic acid (metal soaps). They help the paint layer to dry quickly.

The substance is compatible with drying oil, putty and primer.

It contains the following metals:

  • Cobalt.
  • Lead.
  • Zirconium salt.
  • Manganese and other substances.

Please note that lead is used much less often, because it has been scientifically proven to have a negative effect on the human body.

According to technical characteristics, the product can be divided into several groups:

When adding desiccants, it is worth observing the ratio, as well as the proportions. Reducing drying time by 100% depends on the amount of substance added. If you add more than the norm, then the drying time, on the contrary, will become even longer, and in what ratio to add, it will be indicated on the product packaging.


Scope of the PF composition

Use PF-170 s varnish aluminum powder to protect the base from the negative effects of the environment, and such a solution will create a glossy, shiny layer on the surface.

The use of such varnish is allowed for the following types of materials:

  • Processing of all kinds of metals.
  • Coating the surface of natural wood.
  • Protection of wood-based panels, and here we are talking about OSB, plywood, MDF and fiberboard.
  • Application to the surface of ceramic plates.

It is interesting that the technical characteristics of the varnish composition make it possible to apply it over dried glyphthalic primers, as well as on pentaphthalic enamels.

Properties of varnish

After drying, varnish composition No. 170 forms a thermally stable and organosilicon protective layer, which, according to external data, is a colorless thin film. Such a layer of varnish provides reliable protection of the surface from external influences, and also helps to make the base more attractive. When the composition is applied to the surface of the wood, it begins to penetrate deeply into the surface, strengthens and emphasizes the natural texture and pattern.

In addition to visual beauty, it also helps to extend the life of the wood. Before using the varnish composition, you can add aluminum powder to it, due to which you will get silver. If varnish # 170 is mixed with aluminum powder, the protective layer will have an increased level of resistance to wear and corrosion.

Preparatory work for the base

Before applying the varnish to the surface, it should be prepared in advance, and this will include the following work:

  1. The metal base should be cleaned of various types of dirt. It is worth removing rust, traces of corrosion, scale from it. For cleaning, you can use sandpaper or even an electric sander. The metal should be cleaned to a shine, equally throughout the substrate.

    If there was scale in some areas, then slight darkening is allowed after cleaning. Finally, wipe off the dust with a damp cloth, and remove grease and biological contamination. Ideally, the cloth should be moistened in a solvent for maximum cleaning, and then the metal should be wiped with a dry cloth.

  2. Before applying varnish PF-170, the wooden base should also be carefully prepared. To begin with, remove all types of dirt, grease stains, remnants of old finishing materials from the wood, and then the wood should be sanded.

    When it becomes smooth, even, then degrease with a solvent, and again clean the base from dust. Before applying the lacquer mixture, it is worth applying a pore filling agent, stain or even drying oil to the wood product.

Preparation of the composition

Before applying the varnish mixture, it should be diluted with a solvent to the desired consistency and viscosity level, but fortunately, the technical characteristics of the varnish are not will get worse.

For dilution, use a mixture of white spirit and xylene (ratio 3 to 2), or mix white spirit and solvent (here the proportions will be 1 to 1). You can use these solvents separately. Application rules

    The object should be dipped in the solution, whereby the varnish is evenly distributed, and the excess mixture will drain. This method will make it possible to obtain a layer sufficient in thickness due to a single dipping.

  3. Brush application. This method is most suitable for home use. The brushes themselves are inexpensive and can be used for small-sized parts and products.

    The disadvantage of using a brush is that after the varnishing process, streaks and streaks remain, so you should work very carefully.

Please note that when applying the composition, the level of humidity should not be more than 80%, and the air temperature will be optimal if it is from +5 to +25 degrees. To maximize the surface protection, cover the base with two or even three coats of varnish mixture. After the first coat, the product should be sanded.

Please note that PF-170 varnish must not be applied to a surface treated with oil paints, nitro enamels and on NBH.

It is also impossible to apply subsequent layers until the previous coating is completely dry, and for this you will need to wait about a day. In this case, the protective layer will be as uniform as possible, there will be no cracks and areas that peel off. After about 72 hours (if the varnished surface or part dries out at a temperature of + 2- degrees), you can start using the product. At the end of the varnishing process, all used tools should be washed as best as possible, and for this it is worth using a solvent, for example, solvent or white spirit.

Safety Precautions

Since the varnish is a very toxic product, when applying it to the surface or product, ensure good ventilation of the whole room.

Also, when working with the composition, glasses, gloves and a respirator should be worn to protect the respiratory tract, eyes and skin. If the mixture suddenly gets on the skin, then immediately wash everything off with soapy water. In case of contact with eyes, you should immediately rinse them with clean running water, and then immediately consult a doctor.

Storage features

Such a product should be transported and stored in a hermetically sealed, factory container, and the temperature at the place of storage and transportation should not exceed +30 degrees. The shelf life is 1 year from the date of manufacture.

The varnish should be stored as far as possible from sources of open fire, electrical appliances and heating devices, out of the reach of children. The sun's rays should not fall on the container with varnish, and there should not be an increased level of humidity in the storage.
