We create the structure of the frame walls of the house, their secrets and disadvantages: pie and insulation: Review + Video Currently, most developers prefer to build frame houses. This method allows you to solve housing problems in rural areas and quickly build up summer cottages.

In addition, the frame walls of these houses make your home safe, warm, environmentally friendly and quiet.

The first timber frame houses

A frame house is a lightweight prefabricated structure consisting of a rigid frame sheathed with special panels or wood.

The construction of frame houses began more than half a century ago.

This construction method came to us from Europe, because it is there that most of all residential buildings are equipped with a frame method. You can read in detail about the ancient half-timbered houses - https: // domsdelat. ru / steni / faxverkovye-doma. html)

A well-known and inexpensive technology for building a house

This type of construction is especially popular and famous for the possibility of using more economical material.

When erecting and installing on frame walls, several times less wood is used than for cobbled and log walls .

Thanks to this feature, their weight is reduced and the house can be installed on a lightweight foundation.

The technology of building frame houses allows you to build a residential facility in just a couple of months. During construction and installation, it is worth noting that wooden frame walls do not shrink, and this greatly facilitates further work. Due to the simplified design of the frame walls, you can realize the complicated layout of your home and its exclusive details.

The walls of a frame house perfectly hide the main communications. That is why there will be no need for additional installation of special boxes or other similar communication elements during construction.

Disadvantages of frame walls

When choosing the construction of a frame house, take into account their main disadvantage with inept installation - the accumulation of moisture in the cavities of the frame. This problem occurs in the thickness of the insulation and can cause the formation of water vapor and mold, which appear in the winter when the room is heated. It is also possible that there are leaks in the outer skin, through which sleet or rain falls.

If moisture has appeared inside the structure, this can lead to the destruction of the entire structure. Since the insulation is wet, the thermal insulation of the frame wall also deteriorates. And wet material is a favorable environment for the appearance of mold and mildew that affects the wooden structure and its elements.

Vapor barrier of the walls

To avoid such a problem, when building a frame house and installation of frame walls, they lay additional vapor barrier and waterproofing.The outer cladding of the house should have vertical and horizontal overlapping joints, protruding elements and wall details, and mandatory drainage devices.

Frame wall construction

External frame walls consist of the following main parts:

  • External cladding;
  • Supporting part with thermal insulation;
  • Internal lining with vapor barrier.

Each part of the wall has its own specific functions:

  • Vapor barrier prevents moisture from entering the interior space to the thermal insulation.
  • The supporting part gives strength and stability to the entire wall.
  • Built-in thermal insulation keeps stored heat in the room.

The outer cladding protects the walls of the frame room from moisture.

Wall frame structure

Basic types of frame walls

According to their structures, the walls of frame houses are divided:

  1. walls, the production of which takes place directly at the construction site;
  2. double external wall frame partitions;
  3. modular wall partitions;
  4. walls consisting of small-sized panels.

During construction and installation of external walls made on site, it may happen that the thickness of the thermal insulation will be slightly greater than the internal cavity of a timber frame wall. In such cases, it is customary to use an additional wooden frame or a slab, which is placed under the outer cladding of the house.

Of course, the unit can also be installed from the outside of the timber frame. Regardless of which option you choose, all layers must be rigidly fixed with plastic sleeves to prevent deformation of the insulating board.

The uprights of the wooden frame should be no more than 600 mm apart.

Advantages of the double wall frame

If the insulation thickness is higher 200 mm, it is customary to use a double frame . This allows to reduce the load on the frame wall from the weight of the installed materials. All parts of the wall are connected to each other with special metal fasteners or solid fibrous plates.

Modular wall units are complex three-layer structures that have excellent mechanical and heat saving characteristics.

The outer layers of the panel are made of oriented strand board (OSB).

Special polyurethane, expanded polystyrene or mineral wool is used for the inside of the block. The thermal insulation characteristics of these materials are very high. This ensures less heat loss when heating the room. You can connect all layers into a monolithic panel using polyurethane glue.

Holes for doors or windows in such blocks can be cut at the construction site.

According to their design features, frame walls made of small-sized panels do not differ in any way from the features of standard wall partitions. The only difference is that when installing a vapor barrier, the panels are laid in one piece, and their joints are reinforced with a special silicone mass. For a firm grip and fixation of individual parts and elements with a lower beam, the fastening is fixed strictly along the seams and the inner side of the frame wall to be assembled.

Installing the wall alone

The installation and assembly of frame walls begins with the lower strapping.

For this, antiseptic boards and wooden beams are prepared. The lower harness is laid in a strictly horizontal position. All splices at the joints and in the corners, if necessary, can be made in half a tree. When installing, be sure to control the rectangularity of all lined contours through the measurements of the lower diagonals. Fasten the lower strapping with twists to the anchors embedded in the foundation.

Install the racks with a minimum step of 600 mm.

The distance between the uprights for windows and doors can be determined by the size of the box of these elements. If necessary, their number is increased by adding sub-window and overhead racks.

For the strength and rigidity of the supporting structure in places where the wall partition is adjacent to the frame house, a special additional support is installed, which is reinforced with struts.

Top harness is laid on top of the racks, connecting them to each other in half a tree.

When building up the harness, its fastening is carried out strictly above the racks. The resulting frame wall structure, as a rule, is sheathed with wood or other selected materials, with a vapor barrier and waterproofing required.
