Preparing the surface

The appearance and durability directly depends on how well the preparation is made, so you should approach this matter very responsibly.

The sequence is as follows:

  1. We remove the flooring, inspect the slab for defects: cracks, depressions, protruding reinforcement.
  2. We expand the edges of the cracks with a grinder, then we clean the exfoliated materials, the surface must be moistened and filled with a starting coating.

  3. If the expected screed layer is more than 2 cm, then a damper tape is applied along the perimeter of the walls. It will serve as a compensation for the joints, and will help prevent the solution from seeping to the neighbors below.

Attention! Priming the surface is very important before each leveling application. It will increase the strength of the compound and provide better adhesion.

We mark the floor

Preparing the mortar

To obtain a high-quality and homogeneous solution, the dry mixture should be poured into water, which will be at room temperature. Dilute 25 kg of the mixture in 6 liters of water. Since with manual kneading you will not be able to make it homogeneous, you should prepare a drill with a nozzle or a construction mixer in advance.

The components are mixed in 2 passes:

  • First they are stirred for about 6-8 minutes.

  • Next, leave them for 5 minutes, so that they infuse and mix them again for 4 minutes.

Important: Prepare such a volume of solution that you can work out in 35-50 minutes, since with a larger amount it will begin to dry out and will no longer be suitable for creation self-leveling floor.

Pouring with an equalizer (coarse)

Begin pouring from the far corner between the beacons (ie stripes) and then the solution is distributed over the area. If you notice that voids have formed, add a little more mortar to this place and smooth it again, as a rule, you should drive it like on rails.

The area of ​​the room should be divided into zones, and each of these zones should be filled in 15 minutes. The solution should be poured from the far corner, after which it is leveled with a rule. We fill the plots in one run to the desired height, and then go through the solution with a needle roller to remove air bubbles.

The solution with polymers will harden in half an hour.


Done! It remains only to protect the surface during drying from abrupt drying, drafts and mechanical damage. Polymer topcoat is applied not only for quality coverage but also for 3D images.
